A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for areas along/west of the Blue Ridge, beginning at 7pm Monday and lasting through Noon Tuesday. A wintry mix of precipitation is expected, mainly in the form of freezing rain. Hazardous conditions will affect Tuesday commute.

Surry County is under a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY from Midnight tonight to 7pm EST Friday. * WHAT...Wet snow expected. Total snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Snow may end as freezing drizzle Friday afternoon with potential for a glaze of ice in addition to the snow.

Well, it does not look like the moisture and cold air produced what some folks were hoping for, but we are seeing some ice accumulation on secondary roads and grassy areas. Please drive carefully and be careful when leaving your homes, as the walkways will be icy.

Snow maybe? Snow is forecasted for Surry County beginning in the early morning hours. Please monitor weather outlets as this will probably change. The timing is going to be bad especially for folks trying to get to work. Slow down and use caution on the roads!
