I guess we’re still not paying attention. We had better recognize that all of us are going to be impacted and, if we continue to think this is about someone “other” than us, we will soon find there is no movement there to defend us.

On this #NoKingsDay, let’s not forget the reason for America. America was founded for religious freedom, self-governance, and economic opportunity, as colonists sought independence from British rule and the right to shape their own destiny. Doesn’t quite feel like that in 2025.

This is not just violence. This is domestic terrorism. This is what happens when we normalize hate, when we stay silent about extremism. We must call it what it is. We must demand better. We must protect those who serve our communities with truth and courage.
