We cannot ignore the public health crisis that is Long COVID. On Long COVID Awareness Day, let us commit to doing everything we can to address this horrible condition. The U.S. government must do more to increase awareness and provide additional resources to develop treatments.

8) Up to 20% of US population has experienced “long covid.” This = ⬆️ societal healthcare and economic (eg workforce) costs. And by definition, this number will keep going up. We ignore this at our peril. It’s why we simply can’t pretend Covid is “over.”

The fight against long COVID is not just a medical one. It is a moral one. Long COVID can have devastating consequences and too many people now face debilitating symptoms as a result. How many Americans need to suffer before Congress acts boldly to address this crisis?

‘Learn to live with it’ is learning to live with autoimmune disease from repeated reinfections. This is from Yale. How many are being vaccinated in the UK now? Children under 12 aren’t being covered and are exposed to constant reinfections!
