Do take a look at this exciting preprint (and my first!) linking metabolism with developmental fate in models of early embryogenesis, pioneering work led by Alba Villaronga and Ryan Savill. Honoured to contribute my bit at my time in teamstembryo!

Our work together with jesse veenvliet @jesseveenvliet.bsky.social and Kristina Stapornwongkul work shows how the reliance on glucose changes as the development proceeds i.e. peri-implantation to mid- gastrulation to somitogenesis. It also complements the fantastic in vivo work by Dominica Cao 🍋 .

Delighted to be hosting Gregory Radick at The Francis Crick Institute tomorrow 4-5:30PM for our next BeingHuman lecture 👉 Disputed inheritance: rethinking the past, present, and future of genetics. Discussion & drinks after 🥂 be there or be square 🫡 eventbrite.co.uk/e/disputed-inh…

Such an inspiring week coorganising #EGGED24 hats off to Dr Megan Davey for running the show with Ana Hernandez Rodriguez and GloverLab and thanks to all attendees for making it such a fun and rewarding experience! 🐣

📢 Check our new piece! We conceptualize stem-cell-based embryo models as developmental monstrosities, which can uncover ‘hidden’ rules & developmental constraints that robustly shape & pattern the embryo.
