🆕⚡️Introducing Fullstack-Bench with Sujay Jayakar of Convex! youtube.com/watch?v=FO0AN1… three ingredients for successful autonomous coding: 1. tight, automatic feedback loops 2. expressing everything in standard, procedural code 3. strong, foolproof abstractions

tune in to hear martin_casado and I chat about what it takes to get vibe coding to *actually work* on bigger, more ambitious tasks. we've seen that models are uniquely good at writing code, benefit a lot from strong, foolproof abstractions, and need tight guardrails.

we’ve known for a few months now that coding agents do a lot better with types for guardrails, strong abstractions, and everything being in code. now, you can see it for yourself with 👨‍🍳 get building!!

This is cool! Several good options for frontend-leaning code gen: v0, Lovable, Bolt. This is different. Code gen on a modern, reactive, real-time, typesafe backend stack. Neat!

we just released chef.convex.dev yesterday -- frontend, backend, database, auth, blobs, hosting, and background jobs included. all in code, no config. Andrej Karpathy try it out and let us know what you think! we see it oneshot apps that take hours of assembly elsewhere.

🆕 every chef.convex.dev project now includes 25 free gpt-4o-mini requests! this is super helpful for getting an AI-enabled app off the ground really quickly. no need to sign up for an API key, configure secrets, or anything. we can't wait to see what y'all build.

tune in to Johannes Schickling and I going deep on dropbox’s sync engine — syncing files is a classic problem that has endless layers of complexity, and it’s still extremely relevant for thinking about syncing state in general. was a super fun conversation.

Cursor 1.0 is out now! Cursor can now review your code, remember its mistakes, and work on dozens of tasks in the background.
