Listening to Everybody Know This Is Nowhere - Neil Young (1969)
How many genuine classic albums can one musician have? His second solo album basically laid down the blueprints for Neil's discography and still sounds fresh today.

Listening to Led Zeppelin II - Led Zeppelin (1969)
Do I need to say anything about this album really? Just be assured that my volume is pinned very sharply to the right for this one. Just a fuckin' classic.

Listening to Full Moon Fever - Tom Petty (1989) on record!!
Well this is a classic album. There is no argument about that. Now I know the turntable is stationary for this photo lol but I AM playing it. Loudly. Very loudly. RIP Tom.

Listening to Legend: The Best Of - Bob Marley And The Wailers
One of the best ever 'best of's ever compiled, certainly one of the highest selling. Sheer music perfection, all 14 tracks are certified classics. This is an essential purchase.

Listening to Ram - Paul & Linda McCartney (1971)
Funny how an album that was so shat upon it's original release critically is now regarded as one of his masterpieces. I've always loved it, faults and all. Proves that time's the best judge.

Listening to The Tortured Poets Department - Taylor Swift (2024)
I guess a large part of the world is listening to her new album this weekend. Too soon to give proper critique but y'know, so far so good...

Listening to Invisible Touch - Genesis (1986)
I don't care what you think, I love Phil Collins-era Genesis and this is one of my favourite albums. Yes it's VERY 1986 but that's when it was recorded so there. Listening to the 5.1 mix on SACD.

Listening to Speak Now (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift (2023)
Looking very much the southern belle on the cover, this LP is her last genuine country album before the big crossover. The calm before the storm relatively speaking. Great LP.

Listening to Boy - U2 (1980)
Baby U2! So cute. Actually this is among my favourite U2 albums. On this LP they sound fresh, vital and potent - something they haven't sounded like for many years. Why is early U2 so under appreciated?
#RockSolidAlbumADay2024 #tameimpala
Listening to The Slow Rush - Tame Impala (2020)
I believe Tame Impala are one of the best 'bands' to come out of the last 20 years. Their last album to date borrows a lot from the 1980s sound wise. Such an excellent LP, it's a modern fave.

Listening to Porcupine - Echo And The Bunnymen (1983)
Recently I had a deep dive into Echo's discography and didn't find a LP I didn't like. This is likely to be the LP I'd recommend to first timers, it has everything they excelled at.

Listening to Aqualung - Jethro Tull (1971)
Playing this classic album in all it's quadraphonic mix glory (how '70s is that?). No matter what mix you play on what format, you can't argue this is their true masterpiece. Play loud.
#RockSolidAlbumADay2024 #DavidBowie #NEWWAVE
Listening to Low - David Bowie (1977)
Another Bowie masterpiece, quite ahead of his time. Two years later this sound will be everywhere. The 2nd side still sounds utterly contemporary. Even now this LP's influence is still heard.

Listening to Surf's Up - Beach Boys (1971)
The Beah Boys are one of the most fascinating bands ever to existed and the 1968-1973 era is so underrated. This is a very special LP that deserves it's rep for being a precious gem.
#RockSolidAlbumADay2024 #TaylorSwift
Listening to Red (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift (2023)
Yes I am a fan which apparently upsets some people (why?). This album is probably the most important in her career as she attempts the big crossover. I think she succeeded. Great LP.

Listening to Songs From The Big Chair - Tears For Fears (1985)
One of the 80s most iconic and best albums. TFF only released 3 albums during the decade but three masterpieces in a row was enough to achieve immortality. Superb stuff.
