This article explains well the intricacies of designing a survey and why it’s unfair to blame the surveys when it’s findings don’t match with estimates. I think the singular contribution of this controversy is to highlight the sheer callousness in not conducting the census.

@subarna_behenji 's first paper (with me) is online now in the Journal_PopEcon. We estimate the impact of a CCT program on women's empowerment. The program aims to improve enrollment in the education of young girls and reduce underage marriage.

NCAER - NDIC recently organised Gender Conclave in partnership with C3 India, Nous Consultants, Population Foundation of India, SEWA Bharat, & The World Bank. Nearly 70 public intellectuals informally discussed and deliberated the transformation of women’s lives and its impact on public policy.
