Ten years ago today we transformed the front of Euxton Community Centre and proudly unveiled Euxton War Memorial 🫡 The War Memorial now stands as a landmark of Remembrance in the village 🇬🇧 #Euxton #Chorley #warmemorial #localhistory #armedforcescommunity Euxton Council

Many thanks to the Chorley Guardian for a great feature about the recent Armed Forces Day Concert at Chorley Town Hall. On this day in 1879, the new Chorley Town Hall was opened. Commemorative medallions were made and given to dignitaries and school children. The original Town Hall remained opposite and for a short while, #Chorley had two Town Halls. If you don't go this way, you might not have noticed these stone plaques on the gate posts off Chorley Road, at the entrance to King George's Playing Field, the 'Top Rec'. A little bit of local history 🙂 #Adlington #Chorley #Lancashire #localhistory Adlington Town Council
