172 years of global warming shown 90 seconds. Adding carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases to the atmosphere by using fossil fuels is transforming the Earth.

I confess, this is terrifying. Takes my breath away terrifying. I am out of superlatives to describe the present moment. And tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow? No idea. Data: climatereanalyzer.org/clim/sst_daily…

This is getting ridiculous. OISST provides a real-time daily index of ocean surface temperature (60 S - 60 N). For the last month it has been continuously reading higher than in any previous year and still shows no sign of settling.

🔥📈BREAKING NASA 📈🔥 The Earth Energy Imbalance from NASA satellite data broke through 1.8 W/m² (12-month mean)! This is faster than I expeced. More than many experts thought possible. I called this the most important graph in the world. A lot more heat is accumulating!

Never know what new critters you'll see on a night reef walk at Heron Island. Pretty sure this is a Black Velutinid (Coriocella nigra) #gbrmpa #heronisland 🎥 Dr Caitlin Alinya Lawson

At our Parliamentary Friends of Climate Action Roundtable on Summer Preparedness, Bushfires & National Security, former Defence Chief Admiral Chris Barrie spelled out the scale of national security threat posed by global warming. We must accelerate our climate response. #auspol

We tend to drown in the complexity & our inability to bend the global curve of fossil-fuel emissions. Here is the obvious 1st step to succeed - stop subsidizing oil, gas & coal. 7 trillion USD. Almost 10% of the global economy… Let, at least, clean energy compete on fair terms.

President Xi says that Planet Earth is big enough for US and China to succeed. Sorry, but this is incorrect. US and China (≈50% of global emissions) can alone crash 1.5°C limit. Planet Earth is NOT big enough for US and China under current economic logic apnews.com/article/biden-…
