Again, I’m gonna keep pointing this out. More and more I grow resentful of crime data (eg theft stats broken down by race) because stuff like this isn’t included. Wage theft isn’t included. Crime committed by corporations does greater harm but it’s always sanitized.

Putting bombs in pagers, not knowing who might be holding them, in a civillian area. Is an indiscriminate attack. An explicit war crime in the geneva conventions. "apparent terror attack" is the correct framing for this

It seems the pagers that exploded in Lebanon, injuring close to 3,000 people and killing a 10-year-old girl, were manufactured by Motorola. This thread explains how Motorola is far more deeply integrated with the Israeli military than most non-Israeli technology companies.

Just an fyi, Israel blew up a bunch of doctors, medical workers, teachers and children in Lebanon today. They targeted a brand of pager that wasn’t exclusively held by Hezzbollah, and indiscriminately attacked civilians in the process. Israel will do anything to push regional war

If it were iPhones that were leaving the factory with explosives inside, the media would be a hell of a lot faster to cotton on to what a horrific precedent has been set today. Nothing can justify this. It's a crime. A crime. And everyone in the world is less safe for it.
