I don't know who needs to see this but it's OK if you're a burden. All humans are. It's part of existing. And you know what? You deserve to take up space. Stop shrinking and minimizing your needs because society has convinced you that having needs is something to be ashamed of.

Our storm prep is underway. Shutters are going up over the windows. We're bringing lawn furniture and toys into the garage. We've shopped for supplies. I do not like the look of this, but we'll be as prepared as we can be. Be safe out there, friends. ❤️

It's almost unbelievable.

One of the concerning things about Hurricane Milton for us is that our yard is already underwater, days before the storm even reaches us, with more rain in the forecast. This is true in a lot of places. I don't see how we get through this without losing a lot of trees in FL. 😞

It's still raining outside.

We're officially under a hurricane warning, which means we expect to see hurricane conditions within the next 36 hours. It's still raining.

Kitty would like to register his displeasure about Hurricane Milton as well. I think all the noise of putting up hurricane shutters has made him cranky.

We're just coming out of our first tornado warning of the storm. Right now we're getting the outer bands of Hurricane Milton. I'm near the east coast of FL. Should be more of this over the next few hours. The hurricane force weather won't reach me until tomorrow.
