Why have we had such a steep rise in visible homelessness?

Perhaps part of it is because 'Ontario has [been] lowering what it spends on community housing by 70 per cent' since 2018.

And now Bill 185 allows any landowner to apply to have the urban boundary expanded. Buy a farm next to town and make an application. If the Towns says no, no problem. Go to the OLT. Ontario no longer does planning.

Bill 185 finishes the job Doug Ford has been setting up for land owners, speculators and developers. No more density rules except @ major transit areas. Sprawl anywhere on partial water / wastewater services. DIY Natural heritage system planning. No public appeal rights.

It is completely unethical to refuse to house people in one of the richest countries on earth.
The affordable housing waitlist is more than 14,000 people, & Aurora Mayor says no to a shelter.

We had the privilege to attend a meeting today with landowners, public interest groups, environmentalists & politicians to discuss solutions for the farmland loss issue in Wilmot. If this land expropriation goes ahead, there will be devastating long-term impacts: 🧵1/8

Good question from the speaker in the video...Why is the Ontario government letting ENBRIDGE write the policy of Ontario?
