🧵1/8 🚨 The ethical & legal implications of implementing invasive surveillance systems like #Oxevision in 'hospitals' are profound. While they are marketed as safety measures, they significantly undermined the therapeutic environment. Here is what I noticed:

Important new piece out on preprint that questions previous academic work on Oxevision “we wish to highlight that Dewa et al have not adequately addressed the potential harms of Oxevision as a bedroom-based surveillance technology”

Very interesting paper.

Stop Oxevision Awful. The "it shouldn't replace staff" line boils my blood. The entire economic pitch of these technologies is that they replace staff labour! (to cut costs... or patch up the gap left by austerity and avert the need to reverse those cuts)

I have given evidence in a private session on behalf of Stop Oxevision. We're not allowed to share details until the hearings are rescheduled and held. At present there is no set date. As I have expressed to the Inquiry legal team, I was disappointed with the handling of this.

I was made aware that the hearings would be rescheduled at 19:07 on Friday evening and left with no opportunity to clarify the situation with the inquiry legal team until Monday. These last minute changes have caused significant distress to the members of Stop Oxevision
