Core Trail Detour Tomorrow:: P&R will be removing hazard trees along the Core Trail btw Fetcher Park & the railroad bridge with a backhoe on the trail. A detour will utilizing the sidewalk along US40 to UC Health & Walgreens. This is similar to when the area floods in spring.

TIMBER! Crews are working on the Yampa River Core Trail between Fetcher Park and the Railroad Bridge underpass removing hazard trees. The impacted section is closed and a detour is in place today until the work is complete. Follow all signage as heavy equipment is on the trail.

Water temperatures on the Yampa River hit the 75 degree mark today. Another day of similar temperatures (75 or above) could bring a river closure. Fingers crossed for cooler temps all around and we'll update with additional info tomorrow.

The city and Friends of the Yampa will be hosting a river clean up event on Saturday, July 29. This event is an annual effort that spans many miles of river and engages volunteers to give back to the Yampa River. The event takes place from 9 AM to 12 PM.bit.ly/43K4Kh9

Union Pacific plans work on the RR Crossing on Pine Grove Rd near Fetcher Park on Sunday, April 13. The work will close the crossing & access to the park. The project may run into Monday as well as return Wed, Aug 16 for equipment and track leveling.

The Steamboat Springs Running Series will be hosting the Continental Divide Trail Run this Saturday. The race consists of a 50k, 16 mile, and new 5 mile race. Registration is open online thru Friday, 8/25 at 6 PM, no race day registration available. bit.ly/45CsCEA

The Walton Creek Pedestrian Bridge, a key link on the Yampa River Core Trail for properties in the south of town, is slated for refurbishment starting tomorrow, Sept 12, and will close to all traffic during the project. Read more at bit.ly/3sQun3b

Mt. Werner Water sewer main cleaning and jetting project is making great progress and will be moving to a new location today and tomorrow. Look for a detour on the Core Trail just north of Mt. Werner Rd as crews move from manhole to manhole.
