The Wrecking Crew are are on most of the West Coast Pop records that weren’t self-contained bands. Most of Phil Spector’s records, The Beach Boys, etc. The Motown artists kept the Funk Brothers busy. There are good documentaries about both of these essential session players.

Not that I know of. Maybe one or two of them. But not as a group. Certainly not on a regular basis or an entire tour. The only time that happened that I know of was Booker T & the MGs doing the Stax Tour. And there’s an excellent new doc on HBO about that.
