Construction has started on the new Coomera Hospital. The world-class hospital will have 404 beds, an emergency department, medical imaging, pathology, intensive care and more. It’s just what this growing region needs.

I’ve taken my kids to the Emergency Department plenty of times, so I know how stressful it can be. At the new Nambour ED, we’ve built a dedicated space for children so they can be looked after away from all the adults. Mum Mereana told me her and Jai got excellent care.

Violence against women and children is a nationwide crisis which demands a nationwide response. At today’s National Cabinet, we agreed to a $4.7 billion action package to support frontline specialist and legal services, identify high-risk perpetrators, and prevent violence.
