Wonderful evening The White Horse Pub being fed by the amazingly talented Lisa Goodwin-Allen & the irrepressible talented Gary Usher Incredible food, usual excellent service from Jo williams & team. Even our taxi driver got in on the act! Celebrating the birth of our great niece Matilda❤️
A tough afternoon at the match … but you have to pick yourself up. So we called in Allan Conlin’s on the way home and he had the #IcelandGull nailed on for us through his scope! Flighty and getting more distant but always a good bird on #Wirral thanks Al 🙏 #recordshot
A lovely couple of hours spent around HoylakeLangfields this afternoon thanks to Rich for news + directions for my first #RingOuzel of the spring & two very smart male #Whinchats plus plenty of Wheatear, WhiteWagtails, a couple of pairs of Lapwing❤️, Snipe and more …
From one beautiful island to another … (not quite 12 hours from Turk’s Head to Hilbre Bird Obs coz of a slight detour to Newquay and tide was in at 3am!). Nice fall of phylloscs (Willows&Chiffs) as we caught edge of the front including a Northern (acredula type) bird
Another bird on a Lichen-covered rock. A lovely male #Wheatear at HorsePoint yesterday #StAgnes Managed to scratch out some spring migrants with Gropper, TreePipit, CommonSand & ReedWarbler over the last few days and nice to catch up briefly with Bob Dawson 💙 Will Wagstaff & Higgo
Spent quite some time wave watching this afternoon at #HorsePoint #StAgnes Inspired by St Agnes Niki I tried to take some photos but they just didn’t show the wave size, so I took some slow mo video instead 🌊 #bigsea
Jemma is brilliant at her job - always professional and friendly whenever she has served us. A real credit to Elite Bistros and her parents ❤️Regardless of the “review” I can’t believe people seem to go out of their way to upset staff who are serving them!
A really nice fall of migrants Hilbre Bird Obs with at least 130 Phyllocs Grasshopper Warbler, Tree Pipits, Blackcaps, 4 Ring Ouzel, Swallows, Martins, Siskin & Goldfinches as well as lots of Sandwich terns & Gannets at sea and Pink-footed geese heading out of the estuary.
After a day of #StormKathleen the skies cleared and the #PallidHarrier reappeared over the gorse between Covean and Barnaby Lane #StAgnes this evening giving prolonged views in much better light ❤️
