2 x Emperor Moth to the EMP lure this afternoon in St Mellion. The first arrived within 5 minutes of putting out the lure, at 16:00, and the second at 16:15. The first one shot off as soon as it realised it had been duped. The second I managed to net, photograph & quickly release

St. Mellion cont. Some signs of migration with 1 Udea ferrugalis (Rusty-dot), 3 Dark Sword-grass, 4 Angle Shades and 10 Silver Y (all in the ni lure trap). Best of the rest were 5 Elachista canapennella, Small White Wave, Common Wave, 2 Golden-rod Pug, 2 Small Phoenix... 3/4

Only 16 moths of 10 species in two MV traps last night in St Mellion. Dyseriocrania subpurpurella was new for the garden (assuming it is one as it has orange spots rather than purple!). Also, Garden Carpet, plus Frosted Green, Common Marbled Carpet, Great Prominent, 4 Muslin Moth
