The Atlanta Braves have alternated one-run losses and one-run wins in seven straight games. That is the longest such streak by any team in MLB history.
Including the 2025 Minnesota Twins, there have now been 28 instances in the divisional era (since 1969) of an MLB team winning 13+ straight games in a single regular season. Of the previous 27 teams, 26 went home that year without winning the World Series. All except the Twins in 1991.
Since the mound was lowered in 1969, two MLB pitchers have had 7+ wins, no losses and an ERA under 1.50 entering Memorial Day. One is the New York Yankees' Max Fried this year. The other was Pedro Martínez in 1997 (8-0, 1.17).
Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers has scored an OT goal in 7 different months in the 2024-25 season, including playoffs (Oct, Nov, Dec, Mar, Apr, May, Jun). No one else in NHL history has scored an OT goal in more than 4 different months in a single season (reg & post).
Tonight's Mets-Phillies game is the first game in MLB history to feature 7 or more total home runs with all of them being solo homers by the same team (New York Mets).
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the OKC THUNDER is the first player in NBA history to: win the scoring title win MVP win Finals MVP win multiple Game 7s ...all in the same season.
The Milwaukee Brewers are the first team in MLB history to have an 8-game span in the regular season with: 8-0 record 85+ pitching strikeouts fewer than 45 hits allowed fewer than 15 runs allowed
The Toronto Blue Jays had 63 hits in their three-game series with the Rockies. That's the most any MLB team has had over any three-game span since the New York Giants had 66 hits August 2-5, 1933.
The Milwaukee Brewers are the first team in MLB history to have a road trip (of any length) where they scored 50+ runs, didn't lose a game and didn't commit an error.
Mason Fluharty of the Toronto Blue Jays recorded his first MLB save by retiring two batters, Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts, with the bases loaded. The last MLB save which saw two former MVPs retired with the bases loaded was by Trevor Hoffman on 9/15/02 (Barry Bonds and Jeff Kent).
In their last 30 games, the Milwaukee Brewers have 107 more hits than their opponents but just 19 extra-base hits (XBH) more. They are the first team to outhit their opponents by 100+ without hitting more than 20 XBH than their opponents over 30 games since the 2001 Mariners (7/26-8/26).
