Extraordinary admissions from BMA junior doctors committee co-chair: 🔴 Confirmed strikes over last two years were linked to the general election. 🔴 Don’t regard huge 22% rise offered by Labour enough. 🔴 Plan to strike again in 12 months for more.

Labour should come clean about their cuts to the Conservatives’ New Hospital Programme that was set to deliver 40 new hospitals for communities by 2030. A thread: (1/6)

Today’s cut will be welcome news for millions of homeowners and shows that Labour inherited a stronger economy which was on the right track. In government, we took difficult decisions that cut inflation from 11.1 per cent to the Bank’s target 2.0 per cent paving the way for

✅ Supporting our rural economy is vital in ensuing more opportunity for people who live and work in the countryside. It was great to visit The Game Fair last week to talk with rural businesses and organisations. 🗣️ I’ll keep working to ensure that the rural voice is heard.

Minimum service level legislation wasn’t designed to block unions striking, but to keep people safe during strikes. Similar rules apply in other countries. Labour are prioritising their union paymasters over the public again👇

Construction work is now underway at Wisbech St Mary Football Club on the new 3G football pitch which is expected to be ready for play in around 14 weeks time. It will be a fantastic new facility, and with 29 teams playing at the club it will make a real difference.

👏 Congratulations to all those in North East Cambridgeshire and around the country getting their exam results today. Particularly positive that a record number of students from disadvantaged backgrounds have secured a place at university or college this year.

Something extremely odd going on with this growing scandal of appointing donors to top civil service jobs. 🤷‍♀️ Civil Service Commission now briefing they had no idea about 🌹donations. 🤐 And usually Cab Sec would respond to the below in hours yet it’s been weeks unanswered.

Food security is an essential part of national security. I agree with NFU Deputy President David Exwood that using our best agricultural land for solar is a mistake. Instead we should put solar on rooftops wherever possible, and otherwise on less productive land.

❗️ Labour admitted that they have no idea how much high-grade farmland will be lost as a result of their massive expansion of solar. Food security and energy security are both essential, so our best agricultural land should be used to produce food. express.co.uk/news/politics/…

✅ On GCSE results day, congratulations to students in Fenland and across the country who have worked so hard. 📚 Best of luck whether these lead on to A-levels, an apprenticeship or other further education.

The Conservatives introduced the triple-lock and protected winter fuel payments. Labour are now cutting the winter fuel payment. Age UK says it could ‘jeopardise the health as well as the finances of millions of older people’. Sign this petition 👇 whatlaboursaid.com/winter-fuel-pa…

❗️Cutting the farming budget, whilst at the same time backing the expensive demands of their union paymasters, shows Labour simply aren’t on the side of our farmers and their claims to back food security are hollow. theguardian.com/environment/ar…

Around 20,000 pensioners in Fenland will lose their winter fuel allowance as a result of Labour’s cut. Labour are making a choice. Money for the inflation busting wage demands of their union paymasters. Cuts for pensioners who will have their health and finances put at risk.
