Today our #SBCReformation25 team learned about gospel preaching at Wittenberg, Luther’s defiance of the Pope & his translation of the Bible, the violent iconoclasm of Andreas Karlstadt, and the Lucas Cranach print industry that mediated Luther’s theology to the world.

Today our #SBCReformation25 team visited the Buchenwald Memorial. We had one important task: to ponder the regrettable link between the Protestant Reformation from the 16th C. & the Holocaust of the 20th C. #NeverAgain

Yesterday our #SBCReformation25 team visited Marburg Castle, where Luther, Zwingli, Melanchthon, Bucer, Oecolampadius & other reformers sought theological accord, only to leave the towne divided over the meaning of “this is my body.” #ILoveTheReformation

Today our #SBCReformation25 team saw where Bucer & Calvin lived at Strasbourg, along w/ the garden between them where one mentored the other. We also learned about the Gutenberg Press, explored churches where Zell & Capito heralded the evangelical gospel, & learned of radicalism

Our full group of 45 people (aka the #SBCReformation25 team) rollin from France through Germany this morning on our way to Switzerland. Todd R. Chipman brought us an amazing word from Philippians 2 as we celebrated the Lord’s kindness this morning. Onward to Zurich!

Today our #SBCReformation25 team made the arduous trek to my beloved Baptist cave, where religious dissenters in the 16th C. gathered for worship while oppressed by that state churches. We spoke of obeying the Word & pondered the importance of religious liberty for all people.

Today our #SBCReformation25 team visited where Grebel, Manz, & Blaurock re-instituted believers baptism & the Grossmünster Church where Zwingli oversaw the 1st reformed memorial Lord’s Supper. Both events occurred in 1525, exactly 500 yrs ago this year. #ILoveTheReformation
