8th grade promotion with my old group of 5th graders! Indianapolis high schools, get ready! You have some incredible kids coming your way!!

I taught these kids my first two years of teaching and they GRADUATED!! That group of kids will always hold a special place in my heart. They made me the teacher I am today and taught me more about myself then I knew I needed. Congratulations class of 2023!! You are so loved!!

As we read Out of my Mind by Sharon M. Draper each 4th grader is working on creating their own communication board and figuring out what words they would use most to communicate! We love Melody and her story already!

Squeezed in one final visit to We. The Culture Newfields - A Place for Art & Nature on Friday with these incredible 4th graders. Exploring our city with kids is one of my favorite places to be.

Yesterday 2 of our 4th graders got to interview Dr. Payne about her life and work within IPS AND we ended our day with a surprise visit from Sampson (DR. DOLO)! It was a day full of JOY and famous Hoosiers!

Today was a blast exploring and researching at the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites!

Joy filled first week back with the best crew! Ready for a good year in 5th grade!
