In Oslo today, where I was glad to see this tribute to the largely forgotten composer, Johan Halvorsen. He may not have been in the same league as his Swedish contemporary, Stenhammer, but his 2nd Symphony is worth a listen, particularly the inner movements.

Born today in 1871: Wilhelm Stenhammar, Swedish composer and pianist.
