Imagine building a port with no storage! Trucks unload in 8 minutes. They load 75,000 bushels barges in 2hrs that take 7 days to travel from st.louis to New Orleans. Current cost is 40 cents/bushels but has peaked at 250. Each barge costs ~1mil usd. They can load 2 commodities

The size of these grain terminals throughout the Midwest always amaze me. There is money in storing grain if you can sell carries. Containers are the same as in Australia. No inverters however. They run these small single trailer trucks even though the roads are better than oz.

When the grainman meets fertman. I was a bit star struck meeting Josh Linville . He loves Australia and worked for a fert company in Melbourne when he was young for 6 months. We spoke about supply issues and squeezes in urea at the moment.
