@PrincipledMaths Amanda Wilson As a secondary parent yes yes yes! No more 3 hours traipsing around the school! Although I do think all teachers should then have to have cameras on

BBC is saying Teaching assistants get 22-24k a year. Their pay is pro-rata so they only get paid for 39 weeks out of 52, and often they work less 37 hours a week, giving an actual salary of £15, 600- £17,000. Please check your facts BBC News (UK)

Why is it that I’ve only had one half hour session on ALPs training 8 years ago at my previous college, and ALPs grades get lauded over as the be all and end all every year. And I mean an explanation on what the calculations are. Is it that it doesn’t stand up to scrutiny?

I don't understand how anyone could live through the last year and a half and not see the importance of cooperation, community, and caring for one another.

"When I started out on my leadership journey, I believed good leaders had a strong vision & a plan for getting there, & to deviate from that plan would be to show weakness. In fact, what I’ve learnt is that strong leadership is recognising that you don’t always know best..." 1/3

My friend has just told me her little boy came home from school today having made a Roman road with sweets/malteasers “Best lesson ever”. She asked him what he learnt. Him: “don’t work with Ella as she eats more than she uses”. I’m dead 🤣 Memory is the residue of thought…

I’m a keynote speaker at an event next year, the organizers told me that the other keynote speaker (male) had a considerably higher fee. They were uncomfortable paying me less as we have both been asked to do the same & they increased my payment so there was no gender pay gap.
