Earlier today, my office had the pleasure of joining Staten Island Borough President Vito J. Fossella & Joe Borelli to honor the South Shore 2024 Metro Champs on their historic run to the Little League World Series! Thanks for making Staten Island proud & kudos to all of the volunteer coaches & parents involved!

Armed & dangerous, Roy Hill committed a violent robbery of a Forest Ave CVS Pharmacy nearly 2 years ago. Hill learned that this type of lawless behavior will never be tolerated as he pleaded guilty to Attempted Robbery in the 2nd Degree & will be sentenced to 5 years behind bars.

The MTA's decision to slash maintenance & operator overtime + close the Meredith Bus Depot will be disastrous for our borough. My office joined Staten Island Borough President Vito J. Fossella, ATU 726 & others today to call on the MTA to reverse these misguided decisions before even more commuters are impacted.

Today, we remember two fearless heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our safety & City. May God watch over their families and all of our brave NYPD officers.

Today, our borough, City & Nation marked the 23rd Anniversary of the September 11th attacks which claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 Americans, among them 274 Staten Islanders. We will never forget & all of those who are no longer with us will remain in our hearts forever.

My staff had a great time yesterday at the Fraternal Order of Police Rocco Laurie Memorial Lodge’s Annual Barbecue Picnic. Thank you to the organizers & all in attendance for your service to our City & for keeping PO Laurie’s memory & legacy alive!

A teenage immigrant who single handedly raised her family & ran Forest Avenue's Moretti Bakery for more than 25 years, Santina Distefano personified the American Dream. My office was honored to help facilitate & attend a street co-naming dedication in her memory this Saturday!

Our Vietnam Veterans were willing to give up everything for this nation - many of them did, making the ultimate sacrifice. Yesterday, my office was honored to join VVA Chapter 421 for its annual POW-MIA ceremony. We will never forget these incredible heroes nor their service!

My office had a wonderful time marching in Staten Island's Mexican Independence Day Parade yesterday! Thanks to La Colmena for making this annual event so meaningful & for giving our incredible Mexican American community an opportunity to celebrate its beautiful & rich culture!
