Very excited to have the new Katarina Cermelj book The Elements of Baking. This is first book I’ve read that goes in detail about converting recipes to gluten free, as well of other dietary requirements. I will attempting this when I make Viennese biscuits later!
#gbboTwitterBakeAlong GF Viennese Sanswish biscuits with ganache. Some I tried adding raspberry powder. I had an absolutely night mare with them spreading. I Even tried freezing then for 20 mins but they went very flat! The Baking Nanna Robert Allen
For #GbboTwitterBakeAlong I managed a GF 7 strand plait. I’m happy with this for first attempt. I learnt a few things about shaping GF dough. Turns out the fridge is your friend as easier to manipulate cold dough. The Baking Nanna Robert Allen
For #GBBOtwitterBakeAlong I’ve made GF chocolate caramel wafer biscuit bars. Chocolate work still not my strongest work to get neat this was a mix of bit of other recipes. I did 4 thin layers of biscuit. 3 thicker would have been better. The Baking Nanna Robert Allen
For #GBBOTwitterBakeAlong I’ve made GF tiramisu from Kate gfa recipe. The Savoiardi Biscuits were simple enough to make. I didn’t realise it wasn’t cream but an egg/mascarpone mix. It prob wanted another hour to set but I wanted some now! The Baking Nanna Robert Allen
Tonight I saw (and performed with) the brilliant The Horne Section at City Varieties Music Hall. Huge respect the lady in the audience who heard there were two empty seats on front row and came on interval to ask to use them, and then won a task (and let me pose with it!).
