Instead of telling women not to go out alone after dark, why don't we put a curfew on men after dark?

'Oh but that's too restrictive'

Well why are you suggesting women do it then?

Spiky profiles in functioning, often stemming from neurodivergence or trauma, get twisted into 'spiky personalities' in mental health care. This leads to unfair character assassination with all its retraumatizing harm, rather than proper understanding and support.

One day, society will realise that β€œhealth” is a privilege, one that many don’t have (and never will)… and it’s so much more than just physical health too.

Also that being β€œhealthy” doesn’t make anyone a better person than someone who isn’t.

I always think of this piece I wrote for The Guardian a couple of years ago when there's a big story that SHOCKS non-disabled people at the way we're treated.

Disabled people don’t need your outrage – we need you to fight with us for change

If you’re a parent at another school who has been offered photo editing/exclusion around disabled pupils for class photos, I would be keen to hear from you. E: [email protected] (individuals can be anonymous if needed and handed sensitively, of course)

If your first thought about a disabled person is β€œAre they faking it”…
