Wow! 3,000 rescues each year in Colorado! When I climb, if something is not right (weather, terrain, etc), I turn around. The mountain will be there for another day. This has served me well. cpr.org/2025/06/24/col…

Happy Independence Day!!

The 2025 Climbing Season has officially kicked off for me! July 5 I climbed Red Peak (13,186) in the Gore Range. 14.5 miles and 4,800 ft of vertical. Crazy place. Feels VERY remote, yet the trailhead starts on a residential street just outside of Silverthorne. Great day. Drank a

Mountain Two this season - Hunt's Peak in the Sangre de Cristo Range. Short but steep climb. Crazy access road with stream crossings. Part of the hike was through a burn scar.

On 18 August, I climbed 4 13ers in Rocky Mountain National Park. 3 day hike w/Lawn Lake permit camping. Tried for years to get this permit. Finally came through. 23 miles and 6,500 ft vertical. Rough terrain. Lots of rock hopping. Summit day over 12 hours w/loose scree/glaciers.

While I am hoping for a few more climbs before winter finally sets in, so far this summer I have climbed 16 13ers in Colorado and the highest peaks in New York, Vermont, and Maine. A pretty productive year! A few photos provided.

Whoa! Climbed one more 13er in Colorado but this time 14 Nov. Very late season. No snow. Williams Mountain C, a mtn off of Independence Pass. Pass closed the following day! A late start got me to the peak at sunset! Pretty cool! This climb was my 20th successful this year.

I did my duty as a husband! Shoveled the driveway so Betsy could do errands and visit her Mom and I could attend my lunch meeting appointment! 15 inches at our house up in the hills of Colorado Springs. Beautiful morning!

Celebrated Betsy's Birthday on 10 December. We had dinner at Lumen 8 at the top of Springhill Suites in downtown Colorado Springs. Great views even at night! Happy Birthday Betsy! Buy Local and support our local businesses!

Look what I paid for gas today! Fantastic! Based on my driving, I'm saving $100/month compared to 3 years ago. Federal policy has REAL impact on our lives!
