First time I have seen a salsify plant and flower. Grown for the root and is likened to asparagus and oysters although I have never tried one myself.

Viburnum plicatum looks beautiful this time of year. The flowers almost cascade down the deep green leaves. I really like the effect produced by the mix of the tiny yellowy-gold fertile flowers and the showy white sterile flowers.

I love Rhododendron luteum, the yellow azalea, for its beautiful yellow flowers and their scent which is often carried in the breeze. It even has good autumn leaf colour.

Rhododendron yakushimanum 'Koichiro Wada'. Starts off with pink buds and eventually ends up completely covered in white flowers. Compact and rounded. #DorothyCliveGarden #rhododendron

Fairy foxglove, Erinus alpinus, and Saxifraga ‘Apple Blossom’.

The adorable little fairy foxglove, Erinus alpinus. The plants are fairly short lived but it seeds everywhere and pops up in little crannies. Easy to weed out if you really wanted but is a beautiful little thing.

Bistorta officinalis also known as Persicaria bistorta, or as I know it Polygonum bistorta, by the pond. It’s a pretty flower and the bees love it but does need ripping out regularly.

A Geranium phaeum seedling in the garden. I love how they pop up everywhere!

Prunus padus, bird cherry has such elegant flowers and a beautiful scent which carries on the breeze.
