This week in #StainesPrepReception we have travelled to Kenya on an African Safari, inspired by our Literacy text “Handa’s Surprise”. Pupils have enjoyed exploring the Savanna and writing up their field notes just like real explorers!

On Saturday, our U11 Girls team took part in a cricket tournament hosted by Twickenham Prep. 7 teams attended and were all of a very high standard. Our girls played brilliantly and won 5 of their 6 matches. Congratulations on achieving second place. It was a great day! #SPSSport

In support of our sustainability promise this year we introduced a new initiative - Litter Picker of the Week! Since January, we have seen over 40 pupils take part. We are so proud of their commitment to making our community a cleaner and safer place to live. #EcoCommittee

Yesterday, Reception visited PizzaExpress in Chertsey. The pupils became chefs for the morning and created their own margherita pizzas. They used their senses to explore different pizza ingredients and their fine motor skills to knead dough. #EarlyYears

In the outdoor classroom #SunflowersNursery Seedlings talked about feelings. The children labelled different emotions and made faces to match the feeling. They also had a go at drawing some faces for the feelings we discussed. #StainesPrepEarlyYears #PSED

In Digital Learning #StainesPrep Year2 and #StainesPrep Year6 have been learning how to program robots. Year 2 pupils had fun with Roamer robots and Year 6 pupils enjoyed coding NXT robots.

Congratulations to our Year 6 pupils who have been awarded scholarships across a variety of subjects to senior schools. This year we have seen the highest number of scholarships achieved in over 20 years! We are immensely proud of each and every one of our pupils.
