Today we celebrate St Bridget of Sweden, also a patron saint of Europe. Living in the 1300s she was a lifelong pilgrim and is responsible for the founding of a mixed monastery in Vadstena. This icon was given to us by our partner Cathedral of Linköping, where Bridget prayed.

O God, we remember with thanksgiving those whose service achieved Allied victory in the Pacific, and hold before you all those who suffered from the devastation of war. Strengthen our resolve to pursue what makes for peace through Jesus Christ our Lord.   Amen. #VJDay

Today we celebrate the Feast of St Bartholomew, one of the Twelve Apostles. Known also as Nathaniel in John’s Gospel, he carried the Good News as far as India, and by tradition gave his life in Armenia as a martyr. You can find him in the Cathedral on our High Altar screen.✨
