Well done to members of our school choir who sang in the Good Shepherd Mass which took place at the Cathedral earlier this week.

This week, NCL Business School came into the Sixth Form to carry out a marketing challenge with our Year 12 Business and Economics students. The students had the opportunity to re-brand their favourite businesses.

More great artwork that students have entered in the Royal Academy Young Artists show, this time from Zoe Vasquez and Sophie Clarke in Y10 and Elisa Gamesby in Y7.

Art students across the school have entered work into the Royal Academy Young Artists show. Artworks are judged by a panel of passionate artists and arts professionals. The work here is by Monica Appleby and Henry Wilkinson in Y10.

We were delighted to welcome Catherine from Bangor University in for her first visit to the Sixth Form where she looked at why students may wish to study at a Welsh university in the future.

Last week, we welcomed Stu from the University of Sunderland into the Sixth Form to look at how to revise and study independently with students in Year 12.

Last week, the first meeting of the new Sixth Form Student Leadership Team took place. Students from the previous year's team shared some guidance and information with the new members of the team.

We were delighted to welcome back Tony from the Law School at Northumbria Uni to run a session on criminal law for our students in Law Society. The students enjoyed discussing different cases surrounding theft.

In cooking club, students have been making profiteroles. Some turned out better than others but they still tasted brilliant with the chocolate sauce!

In PE, Y9 boys have been playing basketball and focusing particularly on dribbling.

English students Sonny and Favour in Y13 met renowned linguist David Crystal and his son, actor and writer Ben Crystal this week Hexham Book Festival where they heard them speak about their new book on the language of Shakespeare!

Our in school mentoring scheme goes from strength to strength with Sixth Form students providing some wisdom and support to students in Key Stage 3.

Y8 French students were re-roomed to the main hall on Friday. They took advantage of the space to present a weather forecast in French to the rest of the class!

Y12 students are preparing to go on their expedition to Zambia in the summer and as part of this preparation went on a recent camping trip and did well to ensure the frosty conditions!

Recently 12T led an assembly looking at surrending to God to the rest of the Sixth Form.

Our Y7 Boys' Football team recently competed in the Wilks County Cup Semi Final and won the match 3-1 after extra time. The Cup Final is taking place on Tuesday 7th May at Longbenton Newcastle University Sports Ground at 6pm.
