The thoughts and prayers of our church family are with His Majesty King Charles III & the Royal family at this sad time. The church is open to all for private prayer & quiet reflection following yesterday's sad news. A book of condolence is open for visitors to sign if they wish.

Good speech from King Charles. Faith, forgiveness and real, heartfelt grief. Most people aged 73 are putting their feet up to retire. He needs our support and prayer.

A few hours in church this morning with a couple of members of the flower team, Jane D and Ros W arranging festive flowers. The church is ready.

Fresh flowers in church this week. After the decision last year due to the increasing cost of fresh flowers we would have a couple of silk arrangements to alternate, we had a donation in memory of a long time member of St Hilda's specifically for flowers. Grateful beyond measure

Last weeks flowers arranged beautifully by Alison Garnered Tweets  🐝🪡🧶🧵🐈  are now looking at their best in week 2. Careful choice of flowers along with a couple of visits during the week to make sure they have water combine to give the best value for money in these difficult times.

We are thinking of and praying tonight for Joseph Fernandes (he/him) on his induction as rector of St Mary's Acton. We wish him every blessing as his ministry journey progresses. St Mary's gain is our loss.

At 4pm today we decorated the church for Advent. It took us a while, unravelling the lights for the tree was a challenge, but, we worked as a team and overcame the problems. Tomorrow the decorations will be added by the congregation.

Should have posted this sooner but I'm going with the "better late than never" idea. I'm hoping this will be a new tradition for St Hilda's, it was lovely to have all of the church family helping to decorate the tree and it looks stunning.

This is my church, its where I was married & my children baptised. It's where you'll find me on the majority of Sunday mornings (health permitting) & many other days of the week. Its a rather plain building but the inside is beautiful. Even more so when full of our church family
