Miriam, a CAFOD rep led a whole school assembly – ‘A better world needs all of us’. The children learnt how CAFOD helps communities around the world gain access to clean, safe water through projects like building rainwater tanks and wells.

To launch Parliament Week our local MP Ruth Cadbury came to lead an assembly. She talked about how parliament works and her role. At the assembly the children were given the opportunity to ask Ruth some questions about the job of MP and how laws are made in the UK.

Boys Football, 40 schools took part, we lost the first game but remained unbeaten with a further 2 wins and a draw, at the Plate competition we reached the semi-final which we won 1-0. In the final we put in a superb performance and won 2-0 - so the boys proudly won the shield!

A huge thank you to the PA for organising the Live Nativity visit to school last Friday. The children thoroughly enjoyed seeing and interacting with the animals and it helped set the scene for the coming weeks.

Mrs Hambling & Mrs Moreland were incredibly proud of the choir for leading the community in song at the start of the Light Up Whitton celebrations. Mr J invited Nelson School Choir to join us and together we sang some popular carols to get everyone in the Christmas mood!

In December the Mini Vinnies led a sponsored daily mile on Xmas jumper day. The money raised went to towards CAFOD's World Gifts page to support families and communities living in poverty, raising £308 – well done to everyone for working so hard–gifts that matter all year round.

What an amazing opportunity the Y5/6 children had when they were invited to Brentford stadium to watch the women’s Gotham FC and Corinthians FC. It was a fabulous match and the children joined in whole heartedly, cheering and supporting from the stands.

Our Reception Classes led a special service to celebrate the feast called Candlemas. This is when Mary and Joseph brought their new born infant to the Temple in Jerusalem to present him to the Lord and were greeted by the two elders Simeon and Anna.
