Many sleepy children came to school still wearing Pyjamas and Onesies! They also brought in their special teddy bears and pillows in case they fell asleep again. We were raising money for St Chad's Sanctuary. Thank you for the donations of adult clothing to help refugees.
This week children have been exploring Jesus' journey to the cross. On Monday, our Y1 and Y2 children re-told the story of Palm Sunday beautifully. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey as people rejoiced and shouted 'Hosanna in the Highest!!!'.
On Tuesday, our school was open to local residents and parishioners for an afternoon tea. Our children shared some of there amazing gifts and talents and visitor enjoyed a game of bingo and even a raffle!
Our Y3 and Y4 children explored the special meal Jesus shared with his disciples during The Last Supper. "Do this in remembrance of me" are words spoken by Jesus. They refer to the consecrated bread and wine, Jesus' body and blood, which we receive in Holy Communion.
A massive congratulations to our Year 6 children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop David Evans on Wednesday. May God continue to bless and guide you, allow your light to shine wherever you go.
Our Y5 and Y6 children explored the Stations of the Cross. They were able to eloquently explain what each of the stations represents and beautifully re-told the story of his Crucifixion.
Our children thoroughly enjoyed their visit from the Riverside Theatre on Thursday afternoon. They presented "The Angel Library" to re-tell the story of Easter in a creative and thought-provoking way.
Our Year 3 children enjoyed a prayerful visit to the convent last week. As they prepared to receive Jesus for the first time, they reflected on the Passover meal and the important time Jesus spent with his disciples.

On Wednesday, our First Holy Communion children made their First Confession! This was a wonderful spiritual occasion. Our children went to Jesus in prayer and said sorry for the wrong choices they have made.

On Saturday 14 June, our children had the privilege of receiving Jesus for the first time in Holy Communion. We pray that Jesus guides them as they continue to grow as His disciples.
