This past Sunday, Saint Anthony's High School and Challenger Athletics proudly hosted the Challenger Special Needs Carnival. It was an unforgettable celebration of fun and inclusivity.

With help from Friar Alumni Steve Athan and Alan Hahn, this very brave Friar, Dan Grogan, received quite a surprise on Friday! Dan is fighting non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and yet he has great grades, an incredible outlook and now he's got playoff tickets thanks to @nyislanders

As our juniors finish up their unit on 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘎𝘢𝘵𝘴𝘣𝘺 in class, our English Honor Society embarked on a mesmerizing tour of the Phipps Family Mansion at @oldwestburygardens, immersing themselves in the opulence and extravagance of the Roaring 20's.⁠

We were blessed this morning by current Suffolk County District Attorney and class of '84 graduate, Ray Tierney, who gave an insightful talk on the forensic investigation behind the Gilgo Beach Murders, seen through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching.

Orthopedic Surgeon Dr.Brian Morelli recently visited Dr. Capodanno's Anatomy & Physiology classes. Dr. Morelli's talk was both educational and entertaining covering various case studies and the origins and development of the field of Medical Orthopedics.

Congratulations to Delaney Bartling and Vincent Chen for winning region 1 of the ongoing 2024 Toshiba Exploravision Competition. Their winning entry focuses on employing advanced technology comprising of nano robots and stem cells to find treatments for neurological disorders

Last night Brother David was awarded a Leadership in Education Award from St. John's University. Brother spoke about the importance of the Vincentian Mission of St. John's and its impact on his path and journey as a Catholic educator and leader. ⁠

Congratulations to Kristina Nitis and Aidan Cazalet, the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of Class of 2024, respectively. The Friar Family takes great pride in acknowledging the exceptional achievement and distinction of these amazing students.

Bishop Barres spent some quality time with our Boys Lacrosse team before their most recent win against Chaminade High School this week. Thank you Bishop Barres for giving our student athletes the strength and inspiration to play their best.

Aidan Cazalet received a citation from Councilwoman Theresa Mari at Huntington Town Hall. Assemblyman Steve Stern also presented Senior, Daniela Parmigiani with a citation for their accomplishments as National Scholars in the 2024 Regeneron Science Talent Search.

This morning our Future Business Leaders Club was introduced to Mr. Thomas Rudzewick and his team from Maspeth Federal Savings. Mr. Rudzewick brought his team in to educate our students on the importance of budgeting, bank fraud, credit and debit.

April is Math and Statistics awareness month. We are sharing a project founded by the Math Education Department at BYU called MathTheWorld. This project shows how math is used to make sense of the world around us.
