"We cannot afford to waste a second longer in rolling out a national insulation programme – not for people facing another winter of high energy bills, and not for our climate." - Anna Roguski, Friends of the Earth mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/e…

Looking forward to taking our community scarves along to a meeting with Daisy Cooper MP 🔶 about a strong Warm Homes Plan. Alongside fellow Friends of the Earth groups we'll be highlighting the shocking scale of homes in England & Wales #UnitedForWarmHomes

We went to Parliament with members of our local groups to make MPs aware that 55% of homes in England and Wales are energy-inefficient, often making them too cold or costly to heat. MPs must encourage the government to create a strong Warm Homes Plan. ✊

Local groups made scarves that symbolise the urgent need for action on cold homes and the impossible choices millions of people are facing. No one should have to keep the heating off just to afford food or pay for life’s other essentials. #CostofLiving

From raising awareness of the Warm Homes campaign in the local press to lobbying their MPs, Friends of the Earth local groups have been a key part in getting Warm Homes on the public and political agenda. We applaud their dedication over the last 2.5 years. 👏 #UnitedForWarmHomes

We were outside parliament today to highlight that 55% of homes in England & Wales are badly insulated. Our #StAlbans scarf symbolises the plight of so many in cold homes. Thank you Daisy Cooper MP 🔶 for saying she will help push the Government for a strong Warm Homes Plan

‘Leave the leaves’ until end March. Many insects including some types of bees, keeping warm in them. (Maybe also even a hedgehog or two if leaves in heaps). #Biodiversity

Are warmer homes on the horizon for renters? 🏡 The UK government have proposed that private landlords make their properties more energy efficient by 2030. But ministers must ensure the costs are not passed to tenants. independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-n…

Drax is a scam - burning trees, some from ancient forests as far away as Canada. It's scandalous the government is funding this! Instead let's fund a national home insulation scheme to cut bills, reduce energy use and create secure, well-paid jobs uk.news.yahoo.com/further-subsid…

✈️ Airport expansion should not happen before a climate emissions framework is in place, inc at Luton. I pressed the Commons Leader for a debate on any emissions framework *first* - but all that was promised was a debate on any airport expansion decision itself 🙄
