I sometimes use LLMs as a better form of a thesaurus. I'm pretty good with the English but it's not my mother tongue and I still need help finding the perfect words.

LLMs are great at answering questions like this and coming up with suggestions. Super useful for TTRPG writing!

The game crashes when it tries to spawn too many *in a single frame*, something inside Jolt that breaks it seems. But other than that I'm happy to see that it performs pretty well :)

I agree 100% with this but #Ziglang has the same problem, if more bite sized.

I think Zig is fantastic but there's a strong tendency to enforce that all code, even the code that isn't meant to survive, is good code.

And yes, this inevitably leads to worse code.

It's funny how 'find a good position in the world' is a non-trivial (and probably still very under-explored) problem within the field of game AI :)

The character controller in Outer Worlds isn't great, mostly: walking on slopes doesn't feel good. Are there any actual articles or talks or videos on implementing good character controllers? Dealing with the math, physics, raycasts, etc. Or does everyone reinvent it every time?

Not very far along yet in Outer Worlds but a few things I note:

1) Extremely condensed world. People wanting to murder each other idling about not 100m apart.
2) Boxes full of loot here and there.
3) Pretty funny!
4) Is all-in on worldbuilding. It's a bit silly and knows it.
