in 1993 the ICTY was established after Resolution 827 was passed by the United Nations Security Council. This would be the beginning of a long process to seek justice for the war crimes committed throughout the Bosnian genocide. Many perpetrators have yet to be prosecuted.

in 1992 it is believed that the Omarska Concentration camp was opened. This camp would become one of the most infamous death and torture camps of the Bosnian genocide. Murder, rape, and abuse of prisoners was common. Around 6,000 people would be held at the camp.

in 1995, the army of Republika Srpska launched an attack on the town of Tuzla. This attack against civilians killed 71 & wounded 240 others with mortar fire being the main weapon of attack. The majority of the casualties were young people.

in 1999, Slobodan Milošević was indicted for trial by the ICTY for crimes in Kosovo. One of the architects of the Bosnian genocide, Milošević became the first sitting head of state to be charged with war crimes. It is imperative that such perpetrators are brought to justice.

in 1992, Serb forces attacked the town of Kozarac. In an attack that lasted days and resulted in an estimated 3,000 deaths, horrific crimes of torture and murder were committed against the civilian population.
