Re: The theory that Trump is sending up "trial balloons" by saying he's firing Powell, watching market reaction, and then backing off.... This might be true. But it's insanely stupid. The market doesn't always—or even usually—keep moving in the direction of its first move. Durr

Retail is dumb money. Data aggregators start selling data on retail positioning. Everyone buys data on retail positioning to take other side. Retail fade trade gets too big. Retail data stops working. Retail starts winning more. Let go. Embrace it.

Freak0naut VolSignals Imagine that you start tracking an SPX series from its inception and you see that a call strike has been bought 100 times, sold 100 times, then bought 150 times. First time, OI ticks up to 100. Second time, to 200. Third time, down to 150. How many dealers own how much of what?

Past a certain point, having more "data" is akin to slaking thirst with seawater. (Will delete this when I reopen my data subscription.)

Real estate investing seems really great for tax planning purposes and money laundering, but I'm not seeing the benefit otherwise. Is it because the intellectually stunted are able to get leverage in the space, and can't do so elsewhere? Please advise.
