Having visited the delightful de Havilland Aircraft Museum museum recently we’re once again paying tribute to the mighty PR mosquito

Today’s eclipse will mainly be seen in the USA bar a few glimpses on this side of the Atlantic, weather permitting. However, thanks to the high altitude flight of a RCAF PR Spitfire, here’s the 1945 eclipse, proving the versatility and capability of PR Spitfires!

Why we do, what we do. Remembering RAF photographic reconnaissance pilot Sandy Gunn today, murdered by the Nazis on 6th April 1944, aged just 24 after taking part in the Great Escape from Stalag Luft III.

AA810’s last pilot Sandy Gunn. Murdered 80 years ago today for his part in the #greatescape alongside William Grisman, Tony Hayter, Clement McGarr, Harold Milford, Denys Street, and John Williams.

He was 24 years old.
