This is 100% true BUT as someone with boots on the ground, I can say that even a positive workplace culture can't guarantee safety when your unit is running with half the necessary staff. The maternity crisis is a complex problem of both numbers and values. (thread)

Why do we talk about 'wellbeing' in healthcare? It sounds fluffy & trivialise the consequences. What we really mean is 'mental health'. I'd go as far as 'preventing mental illness'. If we used this phrase, maybe it would be taken more seriously.

I agree, a 10 yr plan & radical change are needed. But... in the meantime we MUST address staff mental health. - Rest and 24/7 food facilities - Protected non-working time - Civility and compassion - Spaces to process the emotional impact & trauma - Specialist MH support
