What your arrival time means to coaches: Early: This is important to you, it’s a priority, you care. Barely on time: This is a job, you have to be there rather than want to. Late: Not a priority, your needs are more important than the team. Bottom line, show coaches you care!

The big secret in life is that there is no big secret. Whatever your goal is, you can get there, as long as you're willing to be honest with yourself about the preparation & work involved. There are no back doors, no free rides. There's just you, this moment, and a choice. #OwnIt

Players: Understand that playing hard is a skill. Playing with a motor & high energy is a skill. You don't have to be talented to play hard. You do have to be in great shape. It’s a choice that requires toughness & discipline. One thing is for sure, you will never win being soft!

Never lower the bar to accommodate selfish people in your program. They'll either rise to your level of expectation or leave. Either way you win.

This will be the last post on this page. I’ve been blessed to serve as the HC at Southwest for 4 years but it is time to move toward a new adventure! Thank you players/parents/coaches who have played/helped me over the last few years! You can follow me Alex Johnson if you want!
