The Prevocational Acute & Critical Care Program was the first in South Australia to offer prevocational doctors rotations across acute and critical care (including anaesthetics, intensive care, paediatric, general emergency & acute medicine) as part of a package arrangement.

Flinders Medical Centre is a Major Trauma Centre and is the only site within South Australia to care for adult, obstetric and paediatric patients. The team provides expert care for injured patients and coordinates the teams involved.

Arts in Health hosted performances at FMC’s Paeds Ward, Gen Med Ward & Laurel Hospice for patients and staff. AiH Manager, Trish said “This is a beautiful unique collaborative project, initiated by the late FMC consumer & former Director of Restless Dance Theatre, Roz Hervey.”

During her time in the mailroom Charmaine looked after mail accounts, hospital assets, sorting & franking mail & ensuring it was delivered correctly. “The best thing about my job has always been the people at FMC. The staff are the most amazing friendly, kind & caring people.”

International Cleaners Day is this Sunday, 15 June. We’re saying thanks to approximately 600 Patient Service Assistants (PSA’s) who work across SALHN sites. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene is vital in our hospitals. Thank you PSA’s for everything you do!

The Code Stroke team responded to over 900 code strokes last year! They’ve received the Aust. Stroke Coalition’s Stroke Unit Cert as a Primary Stroke Centre. From rapid responses to prevention & recovery, the stroke team’s passion & teamwork are what make the real difference!
