South Shields School careers club would like to thank the Royal Navy for their presentation to our students on the Northumbrian URNU cadet sponsorship for future Royal Navy Officers and also the Royal Navel Reserves at HMS Calliope in Gateshead.

Thanks again to Sainsbury's for the ingredients they donated. Our year 10 catering class made wonderful scones with some of the ingredients.

We are taking part in 'Odd Sock Day' on Monday 12th November 2018. We are asking staff and students to attend school with socks that DO NOT match. We are doing this to celebrate the start of 'Anti Bullying Week' which celebrates diversity.

We want to reward your child in the run up to Christmas. Over the next 2 weeks, beginning on Monday, if they have 100% attendance with no lates and 30 credits they will be rewarded with an afternoon of pizza, popcorn and a movie.

Our elf found a particularly good hiding place today, year 7 didn’t manage to find him until 11am! Well done Mr Simpson’s class who spotted him warming up in the Sports hall before his PE lesson.

-We have a lot of lost property at the student window- could students call in and have a look to claim anything they have lost- the deadline is Friday and then it goes to the charity shop.

Our Royal Navy Cadets stopped by Harton Grange residential home this week to wish residents a Merry Christmas, sing some carols, share some homemade mince pies and spread lots of festive cheer!

The Christmas Elf learned a very valuable lesson this morning not to hide chocolates from the admin staff. I don’t think he will make that mistake again haha.

Our foodbank donations are being dropped off today. Huge thanks to students, parents, carers and staff who have donated. It will be very warmly received.
