SMFR and CPW NE Region are assisting a paddle boarder who was in distress at Chatfield State Park. The paddle boarder was assisted out of the water by witnesses and is now on shore being evaluated by fire medics.
FYI if you see South Metro Fire Rescue out at Cherry Creek, they’re training with our rangers for drowning scenarios at the park today near the west boat ramps.
With the scheduled Xcel Energy Colorado power shutoff to portions of South Metro's District in northwestern Douglas County including Solstice and Sterling Ranch, we have a few safety recommendations.
