IMMAGE is the first ever land-2-sea drilling project. This involves drilling on all four sides of the Gibraltar Strait to recover an 8-5Ma record of exchange between the Atlantic and Mediterranean - see our targets below. Follow this account to find out how the project develops.

IMMAGE’s offshore drilling has been scheduled on the JOIDES Resolution as IODP Expedition 401 (iodp.tamu.edu/scienceops/exp…) from 10 December 2023 to 9 February 2024. Onshore drilling in Spain and Morocco have also been approved by ICDP but have yet to be scheduled.

Coming back on here to share that I have accepted a new job as Director for the Center for Ocean Leadership, a new community program at University Corporation for Atmospheric Research. I will be transitioning into the role over the summer, and going fulltime in September.
