It was a busy day at the Somme Museum today, with a visit in the morning from Lisburn City Old Vehicles Club followed by Friends of the 36th from Cairncastle in the afternoon.

It was a busy day at the Ulster Tower today with groups from Northern Ireland. The first group to go on the 11am tour of Thiepval Wood with Carol, was the John Sayers Memorial, Strabane. They were joined by James, Richard, Ethan from Armagh & Lisburn and Laura & her husband, UK

On Friday afternoon the Ulster Tower received a visit from the members & friends of Saintfield District No 5. The group who are on a battlefield pilgrimage, went on a tour of Thiepval Wood with Carol and afterwards held a short Act of Remembrance.

Today the tour of the Ulster Tower and Thiepval Wood was a lovely mixture of visitors from all over and many of them had family connections. We Will Remember Them

It was a pleasure to welcome Tracey McRory back to the Ulster Tower. It was a very poignant. Many of you might have heard Tracey play at the Menin Gate over the years so it was special to have her play at the Ulster Tower.

Lovely morning at the Ulster Tower for the 11am tour which included two couples. One from Huddersfield and one from the Netherlands.

A big thank you to the members of the Rathcoole Somme Society, 👏👏who called at the Ulster Tower today and presented Carol with a very generous donation towards the work of the Somme Association in keeping the memory alive of all the sons of Ulster and their comrades in arms.
