The Horizon Centre has been transformed thanks to new artwork from Kate Bond and our amazing Art for Life team. Taking inspiration from CAMHS service user Willow, the space is now more welcoming, helping make mental health services more approachable for children in Somerset💙

Construction has begun on the new Yeovil Diagnostic Centre! 🏗
Anticipated to open late 2024, the state-of-the-art centre will benefit over 70,000 patients a year, giving us much more capacity to care for our patients and relieve pressure on our busy units💙

One of our nurses, Rebecca, has been awarded a Safeguarding Star for her compassionate care which helped two relatives who were admitted to hospital showing signs of self-neglect. Her actions meant they could return home safely with ongoing support. Well done, Rebecca! ⭐💙

Our Children and Young People’s Neurodevelopmental Pathway has transformed support and development opportunities for children who are suspected to be autistic or have ADHD! Thanks to them, young people can understand their unique profile and move into adulthood thriving 💙

Our Children Looked After Health Team set the standard of care for children in our care system. By working with all teams involved in meeting their individual health and social care needs, the team help ensure each child gets the holistic support they need to thrive💙

Over 1,400 lights lit the helipad at MPH, marking the launch of bereavement charity, 2Wish, in Somerset. Since 2012, the charity have already helped 1,400 families who have lost a child or young person. Now, they will ensure no family in Somerset faces such profound loss alone💙

Meet our research midwife, Tessa Dean, who’s dedication to research following a spike in newborn babies with a heart murmur led to the creation of a fantastic service evaluation. Her project has identified areas for improvement to reduce unnecessary hospital stays for families💙

Preceptorship lead midwives, Kelli Adams and Naomi Doble, have done a fantastic job helping newly-qualified midwives feel at home here at Somerset FT💙
Their supportive programme has led to 100% of the recent cohort staying at our trust, and we couldn't be prouder to have them!😊

Our spasticity team can now visit bedbound patients in their homes to deliver botulinum toxin injections, which help relax stiffened muscles.

A new lift at Wincanton Community Hospital means less mobile patients can now spend some much-needed time in the beautiful garden. Thanks to the handiwork of their League of Friends who funded and managed the project, patients can now experience the ever-important outside world💙

We're pioneering the use of AI software to transform prostate cancer diagnosis! We are the first NHS trust in the UK to introduce Lucida Medical's AI tool, Pi, to help our radiologists accurately diagnose and treat prostate cancer.
